While we heard from elders and country dwellers and tried many a home natural remedy for migraines and headaches for yours truly has been suffering from them for ever and would like to list them here,We discovered that headaches are caused when some artificial chemicals enter the body usually through nostrils in the form if pollution caused by air freshners, mosquito repellants, incense burning including dhoop and agar batti, cleansers used in mops, lotions, soaps, shampoos and anything that has fragrance be it good or bad!
Even butter lamps cause headaches because the wicks which are supposed to be made of cotton or really made of polyester nowadays and what we end up inhaling is burnt plastic. Same goes for candles. Both wax and the wick are made with chemicals and plastic.
There is usually nothing natural about any of these products and sometimes even the manufacturers themselves don't know the truth about the raw materials they buy.
Let us first list what works for us now for headaches:
See if there is some kind of pollutant in the air you're breathing. Sometimes our senses get used to the smell and we can't notice it. Check if an air freshner or mosquito repellant is plugged in near by.
Try to get to a place where you can get some fresh air and the headache might just vanish.
Chemicals can even enter our bodies through packaged foods or even packaged herbs and spices as they may contain chemical preservatives. In this case, drinking non-homogenized natural whole milk helps. Drink clean water when thirsty too.
Key remedy for headaches and migraines is to be chemical free.
Tap water sometimes has chlorine and fluoride in it and bottled water has these along with added minerals in artifical chemical form. Distilled water seems to be the best alternative and Reverse Osmosis comes next.
Elders have advised us to drink well water, natural spring water or rain water. However, since all these sources are contaminated in this day and age, we realized the only thing that would come close is distilled water. We will just have to get our minerals from natural foods like fruits and vegetables.
